Unlock or lock my domain
A registrar lock helps prevent unauthorized transfers. Unlock only when you are actively transferring the domain away or completing a registrar-required change.
- Sign in and open the domain in your portfolio.
- Find Domain lock, Transfer lock, or security settings.
- Toggle the lock off to unlock, or on to re-lock.
- Save and wait a few minutes before requesting an auth code or starting a transfer.
Security tip: Re-lock the domain as soon as the transfer finishes. Pair locks with Domain Protection and 2-step verification for stronger account security.
