What is a one-time password?
A one-time password (OTP) is a short code Domain Striker sends or displays when you attempt a high-risk domain change. It proves the person making the change controls an approved phone, app, or email channel.
When you may see it
- Unlocking a domain or retrieving an auth code.
- Editing registrant contacts on protected domains.
- Changing nameservers or other Domain Protection-gated actions.
- Start the domain action that requires verification.
- Choose a delivery method if more than one is offered.
- Enter the code before it expires. Do not share it with anyone.
- Finish saving the domain change.
Note: OTP for domains works alongside account 2-step verification. Turning one off does not always disable the other.
