Fix rejected email with a bounce error

Use this Domain Striker checklist to fix rejected email with a bounce error on Microsoft 365. Confirm access and recent changes first, then apply the targeted fix before you rewrite DNS or rebuild the site.

A bounce means the receiving server rejected the message. Use the bounce code to pick a fix.

  1. Open the bounce notification and note the SMTP code (for example 550, 552, or 554) and rejected address.
  2. Confirm the recipient address is spelled correctly and still accepts mail.
  3. In Domain Striker DNS, verify MX and SPF for your sending domain match the Domain Striker Microsoft 365 values.
  4. Check whether the mailbox is full, disabled, or missing on your plan.
  5. Send a short test message again. If it still bounces, contact Domain Striker support with the bounce headers.
