Add a CNAME record
A CNAME record aliases one hostname to another (for example www to your root, or verify.example.com to a vendor target).
- Sign in and open the domain’s DNS settings.
- Select Add and choose CNAME.
- Enter the host (left side), such as www or a verification label from your provider.
- Enter the target hostname (points to value). Do not put http:// in this field.
- Choose a TTL or keep the default, then save.
Note: You generally cannot place a CNAME on the zone apex (@) when other records must exist there. Use an A record or ALIAS/ANAME-style option if your DNS UI offers one.
Conflicts with an existing record of the same name must be resolved before save succeeds.
