What is DNS?

DNS (Domain Name System) translates human-friendly domain names into the IP addresses and service targets computers use. When someone types your domain, DNS decides which server answers for the website, email, or other services.

Building blocks

• Nameservers - tell the internet which DNS provider holds your records.
• Records - individual instructions (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, and more).
• TTL - how long resolvers may cache a record before checking again.

If your domain uses Domain Striker nameservers, edit records in the Domain Striker DNS editor. If you pointed nameservers elsewhere, edit DNS at that provider instead.
